Factors such as soil type, climatic conditions and the secification of the boron source such as solubility, pH and B2O3 content determines how much of boron will actually be available to plant either through root system or by absorption through leaf surface. For plants with waxy or oily leaf surface preferred application method should be through soil or though irrigation water.
The most common method of micronutrient application to soil is incorporating boron in bulk fertilizers. ACTIBOR range is suitable for mixing with bulk fertilizers and with liquid fertilizers prior to spraying.
The most common application methods are as soil application, foliar application and broadcasting.
Recommended application methods for AMF products are as below:
ACTIBOR 11 | Blended with commonly used bulk/liquid fertilizers and micronutrient mixtures for soil application or foliar spray. |
ACTIBOR 15 | A versatile source of B in solid & liquid multi-micronutrient formulations, suspension fertilizers and also for directs application in soils. It is a slow-released B fertilizer and usually applied as basal fertilizer. At serious B deficient condition, it should be combined with foliar spray. |
ACTIBOR 17 | Very effective in highly alkaline soils and in crops that is susceptible to sodium. Blended with liquid fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides recommended for foliar spray. |
ACTIBOR 20 | Multi-function source of boron that can be directly applied or blended with other liquid fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides for foliar spray. |
ACTICOL | Can be used as direct soil application or blended with rock phosphate, NPK or other fertilizers as a slow release B source. Rate of dissolution for ACTICOL is less than highly soluble sodium borates, which prevents leaching of boron due to heavy rain falls. The use of ACTICOL also provides calcium to the plants, which is an essential micronutrient like boron. |
All grades of ACTIBOR series are suitable for all kinds of Boron deficient crops but choice of grade depends on desired solubility, soil type, plant, climatic conditions and method of application.
ACTIBOR 67 is suitable for wide range of application methods. It can be applied as simple solution by brush, spray, dipping / immersion. ACTIBOR 67 can also be applied by vacuum pressure to dry or green timber for all interior and partially exterior applications.
Color and appearance of the wood is not affected when treated with ACTIBOR 67. Treated wood retains its original natural appearance and strength.
"Before this I never used boron on my crops, even I also do not know that kinds of products. Then, after the field trials, I look by my own by getting the result is goods which my paddy crops is taller and the grains is most of them is fully. When compare with my neighbour plot, it is obviously different. –Mr Sharip, farmers in Tanjung Karang

"Although it just after one month application of boron on my crops, I surprises that my paddy was look more greener and the growth more uniform rather than the plot that I do not use the boron. The application is also easy because I just can mix it with urea and directly applies to soil before transplanting. So, I do not need to worry to increase my labour cost. I can't wait to see the yield and I intend to use this product in the future. –Mr Shafiee, farmers in Pendang Kedah

"From my experiences, I never know that boron is required for pineapple. Then, after observation during trials periods, one month of boron application we can observe the effects of boron on the pineapple. We can compare that the leaves of pineapple is greener and its leaves are wider than the control. Boron also reduces the percentage of physiological disorder of sucker of pineapple during in field. –Mr Anuar. Malavsian Pineapple Board Officer
